Studio Newborn Photography

Thoughtfully styled newborn portraits in a calm, cozy space. Studio newborn sessions are designed for families who love a more polished, styled look—while still valuing comfort, care, and timeless keepsakes. The studio is located in Flushing, Michigan and thoughtfully curated to feel warm, quiet, and welcoming. These sessions take place when your baby is typically between five and twenty days new, allowing time for gentle posing, cozy wraps, and beautifully styled setups that highlight just how tiny your baby is in this fleeting season. Every detail is intentionally taken care of, so you can simply arrive, settle in, and trust that your baby is in experienced, loving hands.  

These sessions are booked using your due date, once baby has arrived we will set up your studio date and time.  Sessions to be held at the studio most week days between 10-4 pm or when previously discused Sundays between 11-3.  You will receive your digital gallery within 21 days of the session.


What to expect from a Studio Newborn Session

Studio sessions allow for a more structured experience while still remaining calm and baby-led. I guide each session gently, taking breaks as needed for feeding, soothing, and snuggles. Your session includes access to my full collection of wraps, props, backdrops, and accessories—offered in a wide range of colors, textures, and styles. Everything is provided for you, thoughtfully selected to create cohesive, timeless images without the stress of planning or purchasing anything yourself. If you have a specific vision in mind—whether it’s a soft color palette, a meaningful theme, or even a subtle character-inspired setup—I’m happy to collaborate with you to bring it to life in a way that still feels elevated and intentional.

My approach to studio work

 

While studio newborn sessions are more posed than lifestyle or Fresh 48, my focus remains the same—your baby’s comfort and your experience.

Poses are gentle and natural, never forced. Safety, warmth, and patience come first, always. Sessions are intentionally scheduled with plenty of time so there is no rush, no pressure, and space for your baby to lead. These portraits are meant to feel timeless—not trendy—so they remain just as meaningful decades from now.


There is no expectation for perfection. Babies cry. Babies eat. Babies need diaper changes. And that’s exactly how it should be. Newborn sessions are intentionally scheduled with plenty of time for breaks, feedings, and outfit changes. All you need to do is slow down, hold your baby close, and be present—I’ll take care of the rest.

 

Where We’ll Photograph

 

In the studio I offer a white wall set which makes the perfect backdrop for clean and timeless family shots. There is a neutral bed set up on the brick wall as well for family group shots and most sibling shots when family outfits coordinate that set. For baby alone I offer my posing table with numerous different backdrop options, as well as different posing bowls, buckets, baskets, ect. If you are looking for something specific please just send me a message and we can coordinate and make it happen.

 

Keeping Baby Comfortable

 

As a mom and newborn photographer, I understand how unpredictable these early days can be. Your baby’s comfort always comes first. I recommend feeding your baby just before the session if possible, but we’ll follow their needs closely throughout.

There is no rush here—this time is intentionally slow.

 

What Should We Wear

 


Simple, neutral, and comfortable is always best. Soft creams, whites, earth tones, light grays, and muted pastels photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection. Solid colors and textured fabrics like knits or lace work especially well.
