Fresh 48 Sessions

The tiniest your baby will ever be—captured so you can hold onto it forever
The first hours with your baby are unlike anything else. Time feels suspended. Everything is new, quiet, overwhelming, and sacred all at once. A Fresh 48 session is designed to preserve those first moments exactly as they unfold—raw, emotional, and fleeting.
These sessions take place at your place of birth within the first 48 hours of your baby’s life. This is when your baby is still brand new to the world, before the changes happen almost overnight. Together, we’ll document the very beginning of your story as a family.

My Approach
Fresh 48 sessions are calm, unposed, and deeply intentional. My goal is to create space for you to simply be—to soak in your baby and this moment—while I preserve it for you.
I focus on honest storytelling and the tiny, meaningful details that bring you right back when you look at these images years from now. The way your baby fits perfectly in your arms. The quiet strength of new motherhood. The love that already feels immeasurable.
These images aren’t meant to be perfect (even though they will be)—they’re meant to be real.

What is a Fresh 48 Session?
Fresh 48 sessions capture the “firsts”—both big and small. Siblings meeting for the very first time. Tiny yawns and stretches. That first feeding. Dad learning diaper changes. Quiet snuggles in the hospital bassinet. Wrinkly feet, curled fingers, fresh little nails, and all the details that are so easy to forget once you’re home. These sessions are completely lifestyle-focused. I’ll gently guide you toward the best light and offer simple direction—inviting you to look at your baby, hold them close, or share a quiet moment together. From there, I step back and allow connection to unfold naturally. Nothing is forced. Nothing is rushed. This is about presence.
Is a Fresh 48 Session Right for You?
These are perfect for you if:
* You’re drawn to a natural, minimalist approach without props or posing
* You value emotional, authentic images over perfectly styled ones
* You want to remember the first day—not just hear about it later
* You want the pressure off of trying to document everything yourself
* You believe the beginning of the story deserves to be preserved, too

I promise you, these photographs become some of the most meaningful keepsakes you’ll ever have.

Why Choose a Fresh 48 Session?

Because you’ll never see this version of your baby again. In just a matter of days, they’ll change—still beautiful, still tiny, but already different. The hospital bracelet will come off. The bassinet will be replaced by a crib. The newborn curl will slowly fade.
This is your chance to freeze time on the very beginning—to remember exactly how small they were, how it felt to hold them for the first time, and how your world shifted in those first hours together.
There is no expectation for perfection. Babies cry. Babies eat. Babies need diaper changes. And that’s exactly how it should be. Newborn sessions are intentionally scheduled with plenty of time for breaks, feedings, and outfit changes. All you need to do is slow down, hold your baby close, and be present—I’ll take care of the rest.

Do we need to bring anything?

Not a single thing! We can do this entire session with just one simple swaddle from the hospital. However if you'd like to, you are more than welcome to bring out a name sign, special outfit, blanket, swaddle, stuffy, anything that you might think is important or want photographs of with baby in these first few hours, we will make it happen.

Keeping Baby Comfortable

As a mom and newborn photographer, I understand how unpredictable these early days can be. Your baby’s comfort always comes first. I recommend feeding your baby just before the session if possible, but we’ll follow their needs closely throughout.
There is no rush here—this time is intentionally slow.

What Should We Wear

Simple, neutral, and comfortable is always best. Soft creams, whites, earth tones, light grays, and muted pastels photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection. Solid colors and textured fabrics like knits or lace work especially well. You just a had a baby, let's be honest, you'll probably be wearing a diaper right along side baby. Pick something that's comfortable for you, even if that's the hospital gown!
